Synopsis : In Uttarakhand Dhol ( Drum ) is considered sacred. It has been the most ancient and popular fork instrument since generations, making it an integral part of the lives of the people living in hills. Every ritual, ceremony and festival is incomplete without its presence. Dhol is worshipped but Dholi ( Drummer) is discriminated. Jamandas (35) belongs to Dholi community. He has witnessed the atrocities of cast system. Due to this discrimination many other villagers from their community have left the village for better prospects. But Jamandas, owing to his fathers principles decided to stay back in his village. He ignores all grudges and focuses on his goal. He completes education and also masters the art of Dhol. He receives name and fame for his art at national as well as international level. Village temple completes fifty years and villagers decide to celebrate the Uttarayan festival at grand level....
Director Bio : I attained graduate degree in science and later established myself as an exponent in theatre and audio-visual Art. I have written and directed five feature films - Marmabandh (Marathi) in 2008, Calapor (Hindi) in 2013, Enemy (Konkani) in 2015 Amori (Konkani) in 2018 and Dholi ( Garhwali ) in 2024. Three short films and various documentary films. My persistence and sincere efforts in audio-visual media earned me the prestigious National Award twice -in 2015 for movie “Enemy?” and in 2018 for movie “Amori “. Won Goa state award thrice -for movie Marmabandh, Enemy? and Docu–biography “Journey Beyond Cut And Match”. Also won international awards for movie Enemy? And Amori.
