Synopsis : 'Alokanv' is a mystical film that chronicles an unforgettable week in the life of Arnav, an Assamese writer who visits his Galo friend Nyumsen in a remote village in Arunachal Pradesh. Arnav strikes a friendship with Kenter, she help in revealing a way of life deeply intertwined with nature and steeped in ancient rituals passed down through generations. Nyumsen’s younger brother, Nyummi, who runs with a rowdy gang of local youngsters. Nyummi gets into trouble, and one of his friends mysteriously disappears. Arnav hears whispers of a mysterious presence called 'YAPOM' (Galo people believe as a Nature protector & a Spirit clan that can shower prosperity on those they bless or rain havoc on those who anger them) that lurks in the surrounding jungles, a tale he he initially dismisses as superstition. However, as he becomes entangled in the unfolding mystery, Arnav experiences inexplicable phenomena that challenge his rational belief.
Director Bio : I am Paramesh Deka also commonly known as Papu among film industry. I have completed my 3 years Diploma in Motion Picture Photography in Sep 2013 from JCFTI, Ghy, Assam. As a director this is my debut feature film and I have explored as many places I could in the entire Northeast India Among all, I had a close interaction with the Galo community of Arunachal Pradesh and mingled well with them sharing ideas and thoughts also exchanging cultural beliefs. Hence I decided to start my debutant as a director knowing them better and with a purpose to do something for the community and for myself.
